Day 6
After a good night’s sleep we woke up to calmer weather and flatter seas. So Steve got us a coffee in bed. Then I went to yoga and Steve to breakfast. He then did an hour of walking on deck - another 3.2 miles and I did another watercolour class. Funnily enough I sat opposite the same man as before whose wonderful painting of Dominica is progressing beautifully. And I was happy with my humming bird.
Then another Costa in the cabin on our balcony followed by whacking some golf balls into a net and a bit of a walk on deck, followed by a salad lunch in Horizon (yesterday we tried the healthy option of burgers in the Lido Grill - well we’ve done it and won’t do it again). A rest after lunch and then I went to Pilates (which was pretty hard) and Steve cycled. Although we aren’t rocking and rolling today and I feel fine, it’s still really hard to balance in these classes when the floor is moving under you. So some rather ungraceful moves
Then we thought we would try the jacuzzi which was empty and not surprisingly so. You all know I like cold water swimming but NOT when I’m in a jacuzzi. So we didn’t get in. The people in the pool said it was warmer which it was, but not by much. So we swam a few lengths but it was FREEZING when we got out so a quick race to our towels and back to the cabin for a warm shower. But a very good fun day.
Then a g&t in the cabin watching more of the Olympics (coverage isn’t bad, commentaries are good but it’s not the bbc or sky so not always what we would choose but still pretty good).
Dinner in Alexandria - salmon gravadlax and steak for us both. We have got to like our dinner partners, Donna and John very much. Donna was a teacher and is now a hearing teacher. She looks very much like Sally. John does signing and looks like one of the guys we cycled with from London to Paris. The other two ladies - Di and Jan are also very nice.
Then up to the Crows Nest for a drink and back to the cabin.
Tomorrow is our first day in Iceland so we are super excited.
